You might say what exactly is an airline: Well the definition given is an airline is a company that provides air transport services for traveling passengers and freight. We know from history that the first domestic Air Mail Contract was Colonial Airlines when the Post Office Department transferred Air Mail service to private operations under the Kelly Act of 1925, then later renamed Colonial Air Transport.

There have been countless flights made since the invention of the airplane by the Wright Brothers in 1903. Commercial aviation has a long history as well, longer than many people would believe. There have been many airlines claiming to be the first both in the United States and Europe.

However, the first U. S. Commercial Airline flight in history occurred in the United States on May 23, 1926, Do you know what airline that was? Please call in at 213-816-1611 at 7:00 P. M.
