We know from history that the first domestic Air Mail Contract was Colonial Airlines when the Post Office Department transferred Air Mail service to private operations under the Kelly Act of 1925, then later renamed Colonial Air Transport.
There have been countless flights made since the invention of the airplane by the Wright Brothers in 1903. Commercial aviation has a long history as well, longer than many people would believe. There have been many airlines claiming to be the first both in the United States and Europe.
