About Me
Congradulations to all those who've made EAL Radio what it is today and for keeping alive those precious memories that make up so much of our past! My name is Ken Boring. I am the youngest sibling of the Late Captain Weldon Lee Boring. I'm 53 years young and am married to my beautifiul wife Susan of 25 years. We have one child, Trent Weldon who is age seventeen. We live in Bradenton Florida where I recently resigned my employment with Brookdale Senior Living. For the previous eight years, I've worked as a Nurse Supervisor of a large memory care unit and assisstaed living facility. I enjoy writing about my expierences and recently published my first book entitled, Remembering What I Forgot; which tells of a day in the life of a memory unit nurse. I'm honered to know everyone at EAL Radio and hope to learn as much as possible about the GREAT SILVER FLEET. My dad thourghly enjoyed his career at Eastern, and now I have the oppertunity to interact with the people he once knew and loved. A huge thank you to Neal Holland and to all those who make EAL Radio possible. See you on the radio!!! Post a CommentOops! The words you entered did not match the given text. Ken, if the late Capt Weldon Lee Boring went my Lee Boring....I knew him...he had a motorcycle and traveled extensively ? I lived on Siesta Key.....I gave him a ride one time in Atlanta and he gave me a lecture on how not to drive over 60 miles per hour on the highways by explaining how long it would take to stop if needed, etc. I can't remember where he lived but seemed it was in the Sarasota/Bradenton or maybe Tampa area? I was a manager on the departure gates at Hartsfield and so knew many of the crews.......sorry he left us so early! Roslyn
Ken,
Welcome to the EAL Radio Show. We are happy to have a son of one of our Eastern Family, and look forward to hearing you on our broadcast August 14, 2017, "Embracing A Loved One With Alzheimer's or Dementia" as our featured Guest Host. Please e-mail us where we can purchase your book "Remembering What I Forgot", and I'll post the information and copy of the book on our website. Thank you for joining us and for being a part of the EAL Radio Show. Dorothy Gagnon, Host and Webmaster
Ken, thank you very much for your donation to the EAL Radio Show. Your copy of The Wings of Man(y) will be mailed to you next week.
Ken. it was great having you on our show last week (Episode 247). You added so much to the show and we hope you will be a regular guest in 2016. If you are time constrained you can always listen to our broadcasts in the Archive files. If you know any other EAL folks or just friends of Eastern, please let them know about our broadcasts. I would like to talk to you about doing a show on mental illness sometime in the near future.
HAPPY NEW YEAR. |
